Our Story Began Over 22 Years Ago
On our first date, I found out that Dan had just accepted a job on a yacht cruising to the British Virgin Islands. He had traveled the states with his family as a child, traveled the world as a navy diver, and due to his love of the sea, he pursued his dream job as a yacht captain.
My love of travel began with hiking trips in the Blue Ridge Mountains during college breaks. With a career as a Speech Language Pathologist in the school system, my free summers included a Western USA road trip, working in the Rocky Mountains, a New England road trip, and backpacking through 10 European countries.
Our mutual passion for travel and adventure sparked our love affair. I was able to visit Dan in the BVI, where we explored the islands and we were both enchanted by the boating lifestyle. Less than two years later, we were married and have raised two wonderful daughters. In order to be with our family, Dan left the yachting industry and started his own business as a Software Consultant and I continued my career as a Speech Language Pathologist. We kept our travel love alive with family trips each summer, and have built amazing family memories cruising Florida’s intracoastal waterway on our comfy pontoon boat.
The girls are grown now and stay busy with their lives. While we treasure occasional trips together as a family, and time at home together, most of our traveling is just the two of us. And so, as our love of the sea, boating, mountains, hiking, countryside, new and interesting people, and native foods continues, we yearn for more traveling adventures.
